Counting down...

Well about 2 more weeks before we head out for surgery.  Hailey is doing pretty well but it does seem like the congestive heart failure is getting a little worse, so it is a good thing we are getting close. I do feel nervous about surgery, but also grateful it can be done. Without surgery, only 50% of kids with this heart defect make it to age 1 so I am glad the technology has come so far! This surgery will be an attempt to connect a whole bunch of tiny blood vessels to an artificial valve, close the hole, and re-route her left arm blood vessel. It is very complicated surgery and I admit that it is very scary for me. However,  I do know that Heavenly Father is mindful of what is going on and will do what is best for us and Hailey.

    We have been praying for you constantly. I can't imagine how scary the surgery is for you and Ben. We will continue in our prayers and try to have faith in God's plan for this little angel. I LOVE this photo of Hailey. It is SO cute!!!!

Home Sweet Home!!!

We made it! I feel so happy to be home! I have loved the nice weather in California so I wondered if I would feel happy when I saw the snow, but at the first glimpse of the snowy mountains flying into Utah I wanted to cry for joy!   It was, of course, an adventure getting home, but I decided to pack my sense of humor from the get-go and it turned out great thanks, again, to many angels!  I checked out of the hospital with Hailey on Thursday around 4:30pm. It was so strange to get to take her with me. I made a little sign for her car seat to travel with so we could try to stay healthy on the trip :-) By the time I had packed and cleaned and figured out how to give Hailey her new medicines (she has 10 now that we give 8 times a day between various dosing schedules) I had about 40 minutes to sleep before my 3:20am shuttle pickup.  I started wheeling my bags and Hailey and the oxygen downstairs. Day 24 Headed Home

Yay!!! We get to leave for home today!! We are all going to drive together.  The last few weeks have been so full of miracles and we are so happy to be together!! I can't believe we get to go home together!!! I wanted to post some pictures of Hailey leaving the hospital. It was so cute. Hailey was holding the string of a balloon the girls gave her and she wasn't letting go for anything!!
