She's in surgery

We made it to surgery! We watched the eclipse yesterday and got on the road a little later than we hoped as we tried to wait for the traffic to clear. It took us 7 hours to make our generally 3-hour trip to Utah. By the time we got all of Hailey's gear unpacked and set up and gave her the required pre-surgery bath it was 2am. We set our alarms for 4:15am and that is when we woke up to get her ready. Whew! We made it! It was totally worth it to see the amazing eclipse. Hailey was really happy this morning and had a pretty good trip down. They gave us an update and said everything is going well so far. I can't seem to get the picture part of the blogger site to work at the moment but I will have pics as soon as it does. They said the echo would take about 45 min and the surgery maybe an hour and a half, so we will be waiting around 2 1/2 hours. We sure appreciate the love and prayers! Thank you so much!

Home Sweet Home!!!

We made it! I feel so happy to be home! I have loved the nice weather in California so I wondered if I would feel happy when I saw the snow, but at the first glimpse of the snowy mountains flying into Utah I wanted to cry for joy!   It was, of course, an adventure getting home, but I decided to pack my sense of humor from the get-go and it turned out great thanks, again, to many angels!  I checked out of the hospital with Hailey on Thursday around 4:30pm. It was so strange to get to take her with me. I made a little sign for her car seat to travel with so we could try to stay healthy on the trip :-) By the time I had packed and cleaned and figured out how to give Hailey her new medicines (she has 10 now that we give 8 times a day between various dosing schedules) I had about 40 minutes to sleep before my 3:20am shuttle pickup.  I started wheeling my bags and Hailey and the oxygen downstairs. Day 24 Headed Home

Yay!!! We get to leave for home today!! We are all going to drive together.  The last few weeks have been so full of miracles and we are so happy to be together!! I can't believe we get to go home together!!! I wanted to post some pictures of Hailey leaving the hospital. It was so cute. Hailey was holding the string of a balloon the girls gave her and she wasn't letting go for anything!!
