Looking Better!!

Hailey looks a lot more like herself today. She has been on some medication that makes her feel jittery and hyper and it makes it really hard for her to sleep. Ben has been staying with her every night since I have to be with Dallin (he’s my hero!!) and he said that the medication made her so hyper that she struggled to sleep all night long. One of our amazing nurses came and patted her back for an HOUR to help her sleep. Another nurse brought her some cute bunny ear hair ties and did her hair with them. The nurses have been amazing!!!!

She was super excited because her kindergarten teacher came to visit today (he visited yesterday too). He brought puppets for her to color and tape sticks onto, markers, and scissors that change color worth the temperature. They cut the puppets out, colored them, and role-played as they read two super funny books “Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus” and “Don’t Let the Pigeon Go to School”.  Hailey was so excited! It is so great to see her looking so much more like herself!! Thanks to all of you for the help, love, and prayers!

Home Sweet Home!!!

We made it! I feel so happy to be home! I have loved the nice weather in California so I wondered if I would feel happy when I saw the snow, but at the first glimpse of the snowy mountains flying into Utah I wanted to cry for joy!   It was, of course, an adventure getting home, but I decided to pack my sense of humor from the get-go and it turned out great thanks, again, to many angels!  I checked out of the hospital with Hailey on Thursday around 4:30pm. It was so strange to get to take her with me. I made a little sign for her car seat to travel with so we could try to stay healthy on the trip :-) By the time I had packed and cleaned and figured out how to give Hailey her new medicines (she has 10 now that we give 8 times a day between various dosing schedules) I had about 40 minutes to sleep before my 3:20am shuttle pickup.  I started wheeling my bags and Hailey and the oxygen downstairs. Day 24 Headed Home

Yay!!! We get to leave for home today!! We are all going to drive together.  The last few weeks have been so full of miracles and we are so happy to be together!! I can't believe we get to go home together!!! I wanted to post some pictures of Hailey leaving the hospital. It was so cute. Hailey was holding the string of a balloon the girls gave her and she wasn't letting go for anything!!
