And life goes on 😊
Hailey is doing well and is so happy to be home. When we put her in the car to bring her home she just kept smiling over and over, especially at the girls. She really missed them.
They put Hailey on a pretty aggressive wean schedule for some of her medications so she has been pretty fussy and sleeping fitfully. However, when she is fully awake she is trying to touch her toes, grabbing for toys, and wanting to sit with support--all things we are really excited about.
She already shows that she is really smart. I was holding her last night and she was kind of doing a little sleepy cry, closing her eyes, and snuggling in. I thought she was on the verge of being out so I was rocking her while the other girls played in her room. Abby was playing with a night light of Hailey's that projects stars onto the ceiling. She finally got it projecting onto the wall where she wanted it. So, Abby said, "Mom, look, this looks really cool." She and Katelyn had already been talking a bunch so I didn't expect any reaction from Hailey at all, but when Abby said that she stopped her sleepy cry instantly and tried to sit up and look around for Abby and the stars, wide awake and not fussing at all. I just kept laughing because it was like she had just been pretending to be sleepy to get some extra snuggles. Hilarious! Kids these days!!
The GI specialists in Salt Lake did look at Hailey while we were there, but they don't want to run any tests until she is completely well and off narcotics so that the results aren't skewed. They said they are really conservative about doing Nissens unless they absolutely have to. They are going to have us come back in about 6 weeks for 3 tests. Hailey will have to stay overnight in the hospital for them but they don't seem too scary. Anyway, these tests will help us know if she really needs a Nissen. One will be a milk study, one will test the pH in her esophagus, and I can't remember the other one.
Anyway, we are so glad to be home. Our amazing ward made sure our house was clean and there was food in our fridge. We were so grateful to come home to such a nice clean home and find food in the fridge. Thanks to all who helped! You are all so amazing!!
Thanks for all your love and prayers!

Wonderful things to hear....love you guys dearly.
