Perfect summer

Watching the monkeys at the zoo:
We have enjoyed a perfect summer in a weekend. We decided to do a "staycation" this year as Ben's time off is very limited and we have to be careful with Hailey. 

We started out by taking the kids to a drive-in movie. We went on a Thursday night when it wasn't very busy. They had a lot of fun. The next day we went to the spray park in Rexburg, again keeping Hailey away from the crowds. She was thrilled to be on a blanket in the shade. 
The girls had so much fun! 

We even managed to go bowling! The students are on summer break at BYU-Idaho so the Fat Cats bowling alley was empty except for us! Then, Saturday we went to the zoo and roasted s'mores over our camp stove in the back yard! It was so fun! It felt like summer! It felt wonderful!!!

I am so grateful for these seasons of joy! They are so precious. I find myself just wanting to soak it all up and never let go.

    I'm so glad she's getting to be out in the world! Even though we had to be careful about their bodies we have to feed their spirits too. This is really great for your whole family! Big Hugs!!

Home Sweet Home!!!

We made it! I feel so happy to be home! I have loved the nice weather in California so I wondered if I would feel happy when I saw the snow, but at the first glimpse of the snowy mountains flying into Utah I wanted to cry for joy!   It was, of course, an adventure getting home, but I decided to pack my sense of humor from the get-go and it turned out great thanks, again, to many angels!  I checked out of the hospital with Hailey on Thursday around 4:30pm. It was so strange to get to take her with me. I made a little sign for her car seat to travel with so we could try to stay healthy on the trip :-) By the time I had packed and cleaned and figured out how to give Hailey her new medicines (she has 10 now that we give 8 times a day between various dosing schedules) I had about 40 minutes to sleep before my 3:20am shuttle pickup.  I started wheeling my bags and Hailey and the oxygen downstairs. Day 24 Headed Home

Yay!!! We get to leave for home today!! We are all going to drive together.  The last few weeks have been so full of miracles and we are so happy to be together!! I can't believe we get to go home together!!! I wanted to post some pictures of Hailey leaving the hospital. It was so cute. Hailey was holding the string of a balloon the girls gave her and she wasn't letting go for anything!!
