Catheter surgery today

Dad's log:  We got to escort Hailey over to the cath lab this morning.  They will be looking at the heart and lung arteries.  This is typically a relatively low risk surgery but the complications, though unlikely, are scary.  It is taking me a while to realize that there are risks associated with everything we will be doing to help Hailey and that things that help her can and do hurt hurt her in one way or another.  We were able to give her a blessing before and we will be praying for her during the next 3 hours or so.  During our visit with Hailey she seemed to be doing better and breathing easier than ever before so we feel encouraged and hopeful. 

Angie is getting discharged this afternoon and we are getting things rolling for that.

Home Sweet Home!!!

We made it! I feel so happy to be home! I have loved the nice weather in California so I wondered if I would feel happy when I saw the snow, but at the first glimpse of the snowy mountains flying into Utah I wanted to cry for joy!   It was, of course, an adventure getting home, but I decided to pack my sense of humor from the get-go and it turned out great thanks, again, to many angels!  I checked out of the hospital with Hailey on Thursday around 4:30pm. It was so strange to get to take her with me. I made a little sign for her car seat to travel with so we could try to stay healthy on the trip :-) By the time I had packed and cleaned and figured out how to give Hailey her new medicines (she has 10 now that we give 8 times a day between various dosing schedules) I had about 40 minutes to sleep before my 3:20am shuttle pickup.  I started wheeling my bags and Hailey and the oxygen downstairs. Day 24 Headed Home

Yay!!! We get to leave for home today!! We are all going to drive together.  The last few weeks have been so full of miracles and we are so happy to be together!! I can't believe we get to go home together!!! I wanted to post some pictures of Hailey leaving the hospital. It was so cute. Hailey was holding the string of a balloon the girls gave her and she wasn't letting go for anything!!
