Trip to Utah for testing

Well we got a call Friday afternoon to see if we could come to Utah for GI testing. We are very excited about that because it means that Hailey's gtube is one step closer and she will be able to recover well before having to face surgery in May. 

She had an upper GI study. I guess that tells you whether the colon is in front of the stomach or below it. If the colon is below the stomach they can place the gtube endoscopically by just puncturing through the skin. Unfortunately Hailey's colon is in front of her stomach (I guess lots of people's are) so she will have to have a more invasive surgery so they can move the colon out of the way to place the tube. 

Today we are having a pH probe done that will determine if we need a Nissan. They are also planning on doing the more accurate hearing study tomorrow so we will see what happens with that. 

Today Hailey is wearing a beautiful shirt that the young women in our ward made for her. They made her a whole bunch of shirts that are easy to get on around all the tubes and wires. We are so grateful!!!

Home Sweet Home!!!

We made it! I feel so happy to be home! I have loved the nice weather in California so I wondered if I would feel happy when I saw the snow, but at the first glimpse of the snowy mountains flying into Utah I wanted to cry for joy!   It was, of course, an adventure getting home, but I decided to pack my sense of humor from the get-go and it turned out great thanks, again, to many angels!  I checked out of the hospital with Hailey on Thursday around 4:30pm. It was so strange to get to take her with me. I made a little sign for her car seat to travel with so we could try to stay healthy on the trip :-) By the time I had packed and cleaned and figured out how to give Hailey her new medicines (she has 10 now that we give 8 times a day between various dosing schedules) I had about 40 minutes to sleep before my 3:20am shuttle pickup.  I started wheeling my bags and Hailey and the oxygen downstairs. Day 24 Headed Home

Yay!!! We get to leave for home today!! We are all going to drive together.  The last few weeks have been so full of miracles and we are so happy to be together!! I can't believe we get to go home together!!! I wanted to post some pictures of Hailey leaving the hospital. It was so cute. Hailey was holding the string of a balloon the girls gave her and she wasn't letting go for anything!!
