Thoughts on day 60 post-op

I admit that I shed some tears over Hailey's swallow study today. I had prayed it would go well and it really didn't.  Tonight as I pondered the day I had a thought: Faith is not just trusting that God will do what YOU want Him to do, it is trusting that what HE does is what is best for you.  

It was a hard day because the thought of yet another surgery for my sweet baby, even a simple one, is almost staggering.  However, there were bright spots in the day too. Judy Hess and I went to lunch and Katie's family is here for a visit! So those were very good things about today. Plus I got to carry Hailey to and from her swallow study, which was fun.

    I am so sorry! It must be truly hard that she couldn't show at least how much she can swallow (with the Pedialyte). It's hard to see the big picture in all this. But your faith is such an example to us all. You are amazing! Love you!

Home Sweet Home!!!

We made it! I feel so happy to be home! I have loved the nice weather in California so I wondered if I would feel happy when I saw the snow, but at the first glimpse of the snowy mountains flying into Utah I wanted to cry for joy!   It was, of course, an adventure getting home, but I decided to pack my sense of humor from the get-go and it turned out great thanks, again, to many angels!  I checked out of the hospital with Hailey on Thursday around 4:30pm. It was so strange to get to take her with me. I made a little sign for her car seat to travel with so we could try to stay healthy on the trip :-) By the time I had packed and cleaned and figured out how to give Hailey her new medicines (she has 10 now that we give 8 times a day between various dosing schedules) I had about 40 minutes to sleep before my 3:20am shuttle pickup.  I started wheeling my bags and Hailey and the oxygen downstairs. Day 24 Headed Home

Yay!!! We get to leave for home today!! We are all going to drive together.  The last few weeks have been so full of miracles and we are so happy to be together!! I can't believe we get to go home together!!! I wanted to post some pictures of Hailey leaving the hospital. It was so cute. Hailey was holding the string of a balloon the girls gave her and she wasn't letting go for anything!!
