Home sweet home

1 day shy of 90 days since we left for g-tube surgery we are home!!! I tried to post a couple of days ago about the change in plans and then found today that it hadn't worked! So sorry about the delay. I re-published that post today. 

Ben flew down to California on Saturday and the three of us drove home Saturday and Sunday. Hailey did well on the trip. It was hard doing all of her medications and breathing treatments and suctioning her nose while we were on the road, so I don't know if we will drive next time but it was nice to have time together. 

The girls are still getting over the residue of their colds so we haven't had them come back yet just to be safe. I can't wait for them to be home!

I talked to someone at Stanford and right now we have a surgery date of September 25th. It is hard to think about getting through 2 1/2 months more of trying to keep Hailey healthy, but we can only do the best we can and have faith that Heavenly Father will make up the rest.

    I'm so glad you're home, but so sorry you have to wait so long for surgery! I hope things go smoothly and Hailey stays healthy! I love you all!

Home Sweet Home!!!

We made it! I feel so happy to be home! I have loved the nice weather in California so I wondered if I would feel happy when I saw the snow, but at the first glimpse of the snowy mountains flying into Utah I wanted to cry for joy!   It was, of course, an adventure getting home, but I decided to pack my sense of humor from the get-go and it turned out great thanks, again, to many angels!  I checked out of the hospital with Hailey on Thursday around 4:30pm. It was so strange to get to take her with me. I made a little sign for her car seat to travel with so we could try to stay healthy on the trip :-) By the time I had packed and cleaned and figured out how to give Hailey her new medicines (she has 10 now that we give 8 times a day between various dosing schedules) I had about 40 minutes to sleep before my 3:20am shuttle pickup.  I started wheeling my bags and Hailey and the oxygen downstairs. Day 24 Headed Home

Yay!!! We get to leave for home today!! We are all going to drive together.  The last few weeks have been so full of miracles and we are so happy to be together!! I can't believe we get to go home together!!! I wanted to post some pictures of Hailey leaving the hospital. It was so cute. Hailey was holding the string of a balloon the girls gave her and she wasn't letting go for anything!!
