Here we go...


Dad's log:  we got to the hospital around 6:15 this morning and got her checked in.  They took her vitals and let us have a few moments with her.  It was hard to say goodbye but the nurses/doctors were really sweet.  We have heard quite a range in surgery times from 10 to 16 hrs.  We should have some opportunities to speak with the surgeon Dr. Hanley before and before and after his portions of the procedure.  We should also receive several updates throughout the day from some of the other personnel.  We will try and keep you all updated as the day goes on.

    I cannot even begin to imagine the emotions of saying goodbye to her for surgery. It makes me weep just thinking about it. Praying for you all! We love you so much!!!!!!

Home Sweet Home!!!

We made it! I feel so happy to be home! I have loved the nice weather in California so I wondered if I would feel happy when I saw the snow, but at the first glimpse of the snowy mountains flying into Utah I wanted to cry for joy!   It was, of course, an adventure getting home, but I decided to pack my sense of humor from the get-go and it turned out great thanks, again, to many angels!  I checked out of the hospital with Hailey on Thursday around 4:30pm. It was so strange to get to take her with me. I made a little sign for her car seat to travel with so we could try to stay healthy on the trip :-) By the time I had packed and cleaned and figured out how to give Hailey her new medicines (she has 10 now that we give 8 times a day between various dosing schedules) I had about 40 minutes to sleep before my 3:20am shuttle pickup.  I started wheeling my bags and Hailey and the oxygen downstairs. Day 24 Headed Home

Yay!!! We get to leave for home today!! We are all going to drive together.  The last few weeks have been so full of miracles and we are so happy to be together!! I can't believe we get to go home together!!! I wanted to post some pictures of Hailey leaving the hospital. It was so cute. Hailey was holding the string of a balloon the girls gave her and she wasn't letting go for anything!!
