Day 12

Well, it's been a pretty uneventful day, which is fine by me actually 😊 because that means Hailey has been stable. They halved the drug they have been using to paralyze her. She has to get off that before she can get the tube out because you can't breathe on your own if you're paralyzed. 

So, they might try turning it off in a bit to see if she will tolerate it without breathing against the vent. So far when they turn off the paralytic she fights the vent and her carbon dioxide gets too high. It is all such a delicate balance. 

They think her lungs really are getting better though! Yay!!! 

I put a tiny flower in her hair but I didn't have a comb so this was the best I could do. 😉

Home Sweet Home!!!

We made it! I feel so happy to be home! I have loved the nice weather in California so I wondered if I would feel happy when I saw the snow, but at the first glimpse of the snowy mountains flying into Utah I wanted to cry for joy!   It was, of course, an adventure getting home, but I decided to pack my sense of humor from the get-go and it turned out great thanks, again, to many angels!  I checked out of the hospital with Hailey on Thursday around 4:30pm. It was so strange to get to take her with me. I made a little sign for her car seat to travel with so we could try to stay healthy on the trip :-) By the time I had packed and cleaned and figured out how to give Hailey her new medicines (she has 10 now that we give 8 times a day between various dosing schedules) I had about 40 minutes to sleep before my 3:20am shuttle pickup.  I started wheeling my bags and Hailey and the oxygen downstairs. Day 24 Headed Home

Yay!!! We get to leave for home today!! We are all going to drive together.  The last few weeks have been so full of miracles and we are so happy to be together!! I can't believe we get to go home together!!! I wanted to post some pictures of Hailey leaving the hospital. It was so cute. Hailey was holding the string of a balloon the girls gave her and she wasn't letting go for anything!!
