Day 47 since surgery day 50 since arriving at PCH

Well we are back in the ICU. Hailey has rhinovirus, AKA the common cold. I feel terrible because we all had colds last week! Despite keeping the kids totally away and wearing a mask, washing hands, and using hand sanitizer, she still got it. 

The doctors here say that rhinovirus symptoms usually last 6-10 days, but the virus can live 30-60 days. So, if Stanford wants her completely virus free we could be in for another month or two of waiting before surgery.

The problem is that I don't know if she can really wait that long. I don't know what they will say. 

Please pray that she can be well enough to have surgery on he 17th. However it works out though, I must say that I know that Heavenly Father has been very mindful of us and has sent a multitude of blessings despite our trials. We have been richly blessed and somehow He will work things out for the best, even if I don't understand why or how things to the way they do. It's not that I am super strong or that this isn't extremely difficult. It's just that there have been too many tender mercies, too many little miracles along the way to deny that He has been here with us through it all. 

Ben and my Uncle Kevin are going to give her a blessing tonight.

Home Sweet Home!!!

We made it! I feel so happy to be home! I have loved the nice weather in California so I wondered if I would feel happy when I saw the snow, but at the first glimpse of the snowy mountains flying into Utah I wanted to cry for joy!   It was, of course, an adventure getting home, but I decided to pack my sense of humor from the get-go and it turned out great thanks, again, to many angels!  I checked out of the hospital with Hailey on Thursday around 4:30pm. It was so strange to get to take her with me. I made a little sign for her car seat to travel with so we could try to stay healthy on the trip :-) By the time I had packed and cleaned and figured out how to give Hailey her new medicines (she has 10 now that we give 8 times a day between various dosing schedules) I had about 40 minutes to sleep before my 3:20am shuttle pickup.  I started wheeling my bags and Hailey and the oxygen downstairs. Day 24 Headed Home

Yay!!! We get to leave for home today!! We are all going to drive together.  The last few weeks have been so full of miracles and we are so happy to be together!! I can't believe we get to go home together!!! I wanted to post some pictures of Hailey leaving the hospital. It was so cute. Hailey was holding the string of a balloon the girls gave her and she wasn't letting go for anything!!
