Day 24

Hailey is doing pretty well today. She stopped breathing for a couple minutes this morning but they feel like it was probably just junk in her throat because once they suctioned it she started right back up. 

She pulled her G-tube out yesterday and they had to come put another one in. They want to give it a chance to heal so they had to put an NJ tube down her nose again. 

Also--big news!! She is off CPAP and onto high flow!! Yay!!! We have seen some true smiles and so is making great progress! She got really upset this morning and we decided it is because she is a little more awake and does NOT like having the mask on her face. 

Mom and Dad visited Sunday and Monday and I even ran 2 miles with them while they were here-woohoo!! Alan and Linda (my aunt and uncle) came to visit today and we got to hang out with Kevin and Melanie (my other aunt and uncle) over the weekend--plus Ben and the girls were here Friday-Sunday. I love the family time!! It really lifts my spirits!!

Home Sweet Home!!!

We made it! I feel so happy to be home! I have loved the nice weather in California so I wondered if I would feel happy when I saw the snow, but at the first glimpse of the snowy mountains flying into Utah I wanted to cry for joy!   It was, of course, an adventure getting home, but I decided to pack my sense of humor from the get-go and it turned out great thanks, again, to many angels!  I checked out of the hospital with Hailey on Thursday around 4:30pm. It was so strange to get to take her with me. I made a little sign for her car seat to travel with so we could try to stay healthy on the trip :-) By the time I had packed and cleaned and figured out how to give Hailey her new medicines (she has 10 now that we give 8 times a day between various dosing schedules) I had about 40 minutes to sleep before my 3:20am shuttle pickup.  I started wheeling my bags and Hailey and the oxygen downstairs. Day 24 Headed Home

Yay!!! We get to leave for home today!! We are all going to drive together.  The last few weeks have been so full of miracles and we are so happy to be together!! I can't believe we get to go home together!!! I wanted to post some pictures of Hailey leaving the hospital. It was so cute. Hailey was holding the string of a balloon the girls gave her and she wasn't letting go for anything!!
