Day 13

Hailey is doing really well today. They are talking about taking out maybe 1 chest tube and a few of the lines that go directly into her heart! Hooray!!!! 

They also plan to put in a PICC line (a longer-term IV that goes near your heart). I feel nervous about that because last time she had one here it got infected and caused her to stay for a long time, but they need to be able to draw blood and give medicines easily. 

They say they might take the breathing tube out tomorrow which would be awesome, but we know from experience not to get too hyper about that until it is actually out. :-) 

Things are looking up though and as  always we appreciate your love and prayers!

Home Sweet Home!!!

We made it! I feel so happy to be home! I have loved the nice weather in California so I wondered if I would feel happy when I saw the snow, but at the first glimpse of the snowy mountains flying into Utah I wanted to cry for joy!   It was, of course, an adventure getting home, but I decided to pack my sense of humor from the get-go and it turned out great thanks, again, to many angels!  I checked out of the hospital with Hailey on Thursday around 4:30pm. It was so strange to get to take her with me. I made a little sign for her car seat to travel with so we could try to stay healthy on the trip :-) By the time I had packed and cleaned and figured out how to give Hailey her new medicines (she has 10 now that we give 8 times a day between various dosing schedules) I had about 40 minutes to sleep before my 3:20am shuttle pickup.  I started wheeling my bags and Hailey and the oxygen downstairs. Day 24 Headed Home

Yay!!! We get to leave for home today!! We are all going to drive together.  The last few weeks have been so full of miracles and we are so happy to be together!! I can't believe we get to go home together!!! I wanted to post some pictures of Hailey leaving the hospital. It was so cute. Hailey was holding the string of a balloon the girls gave her and she wasn't letting go for anything!!
