Day 8

We have passed two happy, joyful days together as a family. 

Surgery goes forward tomorrow. We have to be at the hospital around 6:15 and Hailey's actual surgery will begin around 8am. Though we do have to hand her over to the anesthesiology team around 7ish. 

I can't even begin to put my feelings into words. There is such a swirling mix of emotions--relief, grief, joy, anxiety, hope, dread. I sat today and just held her for a few hours. She is such a part of our lives. I think it is much harder this time because we know her so well. 

We know that many of you are praying and have fasted for us. I heard some of you even cleaned our home. We are deeply grateful. Thank you for supporting us!

    Oh Angie, we've been thinking of you guys and praying for you all morning. I'm so happy the surgery is finally here, but I'm sure it's so hard for you all as well. I can't wait until the surgery is done and she can start to improve! I hope everything goes well! I love you all so so much!

Home Sweet Home!!!

We made it! I feel so happy to be home! I have loved the nice weather in California so I wondered if I would feel happy when I saw the snow, but at the first glimpse of the snowy mountains flying into Utah I wanted to cry for joy!   It was, of course, an adventure getting home, but I decided to pack my sense of humor from the get-go and it turned out great thanks, again, to many angels!  I checked out of the hospital with Hailey on Thursday around 4:30pm. It was so strange to get to take her with me. I made a little sign for her car seat to travel with so we could try to stay healthy on the trip :-) By the time I had packed and cleaned and figured out how to give Hailey her new medicines (she has 10 now that we give 8 times a day between various dosing schedules) I had about 40 minutes to sleep before my 3:20am shuttle pickup.  I started wheeling my bags and Hailey and the oxygen downstairs. Day 24 Headed Home

Yay!!! We get to leave for home today!! We are all going to drive together.  The last few weeks have been so full of miracles and we are so happy to be together!! I can't believe we get to go home together!!! I wanted to post some pictures of Hailey leaving the hospital. It was so cute. Hailey was holding the string of a balloon the girls gave her and she wasn't letting go for anything!!
