Day 21 (12 days since surgery)


Hailey is doing well. She is down to just 1/4 liter of oxygen! Yay!! The last quarter liter is usually the hardest to get rid of so we will see how that goes. Her heart rate has been a little high and she sounds pretty stuffy so we are working those things out but she is one happy girl!  

I think she feels really good because she is teething and she still can't stop smiling!! 

We are so excited for her.  Today they will evaluate her G-tube to see for it is ready to use. We are hoping and praying that all can go well this week so we could all go home when Ben has to head home this Saturday.  It would be such a huge blessing not to have to be apart again! 

We can't even begin to say how much all the support we have received has helped and blessed us. It is one of the things we discuss most frequently.  We are humbled by the kindness of all of you. Thank you for your prayers. We love you all. We will try to post later when we have G-tube study results!

    It is a amazing how well she is doing! Jackson wasn't that happy and smiley that soon after surgery. We will be praying you will all come home together this weekend!

Home Sweet Home!!!

We made it! I feel so happy to be home! I have loved the nice weather in California so I wondered if I would feel happy when I saw the snow, but at the first glimpse of the snowy mountains flying into Utah I wanted to cry for joy!   It was, of course, an adventure getting home, but I decided to pack my sense of humor from the get-go and it turned out great thanks, again, to many angels!  I checked out of the hospital with Hailey on Thursday around 4:30pm. It was so strange to get to take her with me. I made a little sign for her car seat to travel with so we could try to stay healthy on the trip :-) By the time I had packed and cleaned and figured out how to give Hailey her new medicines (she has 10 now that we give 8 times a day between various dosing schedules) I had about 40 minutes to sleep before my 3:20am shuttle pickup.  I started wheeling my bags and Hailey and the oxygen downstairs. Day 24 Headed Home

Yay!!! We get to leave for home today!! We are all going to drive together.  The last few weeks have been so full of miracles and we are so happy to be together!! I can't believe we get to go home together!!! I wanted to post some pictures of Hailey leaving the hospital. It was so cute. Hailey was holding the string of a balloon the girls gave her and she wasn't letting go for anything!!
