Day 9 surgery

We got to the hospital around 6:15 this morning. We checked in and everything was good. We were waiting for some of our anesthesiologists to get out of a meeting. They came out around 8:15 and were just about to take Hailey to the OR when there was an emergency with a child upstairs. 

They talked about having to cancel Hailey's surgery if they couldn't get another OR to use. 

We prayed and prayed that it could still be today. It is such an emotional roller coaster that another setback would've been quite the blow. 

Fortunately they decided to go ahead. Hailey went into the OR at 11am instead of 8am, but she went. I got to snuggle with her for a few extra hours so that was great! 

We are in the waiting room now. They said she is on bypass now. The surgery should take 8-15 hours depending on how things go. We will definitely keep you posted. Thank you all for your prayers!

Home Sweet Home!!!

We made it! I feel so happy to be home! I have loved the nice weather in California so I wondered if I would feel happy when I saw the snow, but at the first glimpse of the snowy mountains flying into Utah I wanted to cry for joy!   It was, of course, an adventure getting home, but I decided to pack my sense of humor from the get-go and it turned out great thanks, again, to many angels!  I checked out of the hospital with Hailey on Thursday around 4:30pm. It was so strange to get to take her with me. I made a little sign for her car seat to travel with so we could try to stay healthy on the trip :-) By the time I had packed and cleaned and figured out how to give Hailey her new medicines (she has 10 now that we give 8 times a day between various dosing schedules) I had about 40 minutes to sleep before my 3:20am shuttle pickup.  I started wheeling my bags and Hailey and the oxygen downstairs. Day 24 Headed Home

Yay!!! We get to leave for home today!! We are all going to drive together.  The last few weeks have been so full of miracles and we are so happy to be together!! I can't believe we get to go home together!!! I wanted to post some pictures of Hailey leaving the hospital. It was so cute. Hailey was holding the string of a balloon the girls gave her and she wasn't letting go for anything!!
