Day 22


Look who isn't wearing oxygen!!!!
And being fed through her g-tube!! (We haven't pulled the NJ yet but hopefully tomorrow)

I even had Hailey laughing today!!

They are thinking of discharging us tomorrow and having us stay here in Palo Alto for 2 days and then sending us home!!!

I'm praying that will all turn out!!! We still have to prove that she can make it through the night without oxygen. She has thrown up a few times and we are switching formulas to Pediasure, which is for toddlers, so we still have a lot to get through but we are so excited!!

They will pull the NJ tube out of her nose tomorrow if she tolerates her food being in her tummy all right. 

If things go as planned we may get to go home together as we have hoped and prayed we could!

The only real hiccup in our plans right now is that Ben isn't feeling well. He is staying in a hotel tonight since he can't stay at the Ronald McDonald House when he is sick and we are trying not to get the kids sick--especially Hailey. 

Otherwise we are doing well and SO EXCITED about maybe getting out tomorrow!!!

    I love love love her happy smiling face in the previous post!!! And she looks awesome without oxygen! What a blessing. I am so thankful all has gone so smoothly, as we think and pray for you all so often. We will pray they can successfully pull the NJ tube, and that Ben will be just fine and you can all go home together. How awesome will it be to see no tubes on Hailey's face!!! <3

Home Sweet Home!!!

We made it! I feel so happy to be home! I have loved the nice weather in California so I wondered if I would feel happy when I saw the snow, but at the first glimpse of the snowy mountains flying into Utah I wanted to cry for joy!   It was, of course, an adventure getting home, but I decided to pack my sense of humor from the get-go and it turned out great thanks, again, to many angels!  I checked out of the hospital with Hailey on Thursday around 4:30pm. It was so strange to get to take her with me. I made a little sign for her car seat to travel with so we could try to stay healthy on the trip :-) By the time I had packed and cleaned and figured out how to give Hailey her new medicines (she has 10 now that we give 8 times a day between various dosing schedules) I had about 40 minutes to sleep before my 3:20am shuttle pickup.  I started wheeling my bags and Hailey and the oxygen downstairs. Day 24 Headed Home

Yay!!! We get to leave for home today!! We are all going to drive together.  The last few weeks have been so full of miracles and we are so happy to be together!! I can't believe we get to go home together!!! I wanted to post some pictures of Hailey leaving the hospital. It was so cute. Hailey was holding the string of a balloon the girls gave her and she wasn't letting go for anything!!
