Day 5

Hailey is still in the hospital. They feel like she still has some kind of minor upper respiratory virus despite the negative swab so they are keeping her in to observe her. They still plan to go forward with surgery as far as we can tell but if anything crops up between now and then they could change their minds. 

It is really stressful to feel like it is always kind of up in the air. Sometimes you talk to someone and it sounds like a 100% go and other times it feels like they are still iffy.

We just keep praying that she can still have surgery Wednesday and that it will go well. I think she will need to be completely over whatever tiny thing she has. 

Ben and the girls are coming down starting today. They won't actually arrive until Sunday.

Home Sweet Home!!!

We made it! I feel so happy to be home! I have loved the nice weather in California so I wondered if I would feel happy when I saw the snow, but at the first glimpse of the snowy mountains flying into Utah I wanted to cry for joy!   It was, of course, an adventure getting home, but I decided to pack my sense of humor from the get-go and it turned out great thanks, again, to many angels!  I checked out of the hospital with Hailey on Thursday around 4:30pm. It was so strange to get to take her with me. I made a little sign for her car seat to travel with so we could try to stay healthy on the trip :-) By the time I had packed and cleaned and figured out how to give Hailey her new medicines (she has 10 now that we give 8 times a day between various dosing schedules) I had about 40 minutes to sleep before my 3:20am shuttle pickup.  I started wheeling my bags and Hailey and the oxygen downstairs. Day 24 Headed Home

Yay!!! We get to leave for home today!! We are all going to drive together.  The last few weeks have been so full of miracles and we are so happy to be together!! I can't believe we get to go home together!!! I wanted to post some pictures of Hailey leaving the hospital. It was so cute. Hailey was holding the string of a balloon the girls gave her and she wasn't letting go for anything!!
